Delete your account

Actual · caleblward7@gmail.com

You can delete your Actual account and everything stored in the cloud yourself, from inside the app. It takes about ten seconds.

From the app

  1. Open Actual.
  2. Open the menu () and choose Settings.
  3. Go to Account.
  4. Tap Delete account.
  5. Choose what happens to the calendar on this device — keep it (the default) or erase it too.
  6. Type the word delete to confirm.

The account is removed straight away. There is no waiting period and no way to undo it.

Export first if you want to keep your schedule. Under Settings → Backups, Export saves everything to a plain file on your device that you can import back at any time.

What is deleted, and what is not

Your login (email and password) Deleted immediately and permanently.
The copy of your schedule held in the cloud Deleted immediately and permanently, along with the account.
Backups you exported yourself Untouched — they are your files, on your device.
The schedule saved on the device you are using Your choice, made when you delete. Keep it and the calendar stays exactly as it is, simply no longer syncing. Erase it and every block, to-do, list and note on this device goes too, leaving an empty calendar. Keeping is the default, because it is the one you can undo.

Nothing is retained after deletion. There are no backups held on our side to restore from, and no data is passed to anyone else at any point.

If you cannot get into the app

If you have uninstalled Actual or cannot sign in, email caleblward7@gmail.com from the address the account uses, with the subject Delete my account. The account will be removed within 30 days, and usually much sooner. Write from the account's own email address if you can — it is the only way to confirm the request is yours.

Other devices

Devices still signed in to the deleted account keep whatever copy of the schedule they already had, and simply stop syncing. Sign out on each one, or uninstall, to clear them.
